HealthDesk Launches Inaugural 2024 Cohort of Student Digital Health Coaches

GW HealthDesk celebrated the launch of its inaugural Student Digital Health Coach program in Summer 2024, supported through a sponsorship with Sibley Memorial Hospital – Johns Hopkins Medicine. The pilot cohort connected with over 350 patients, focusing primarily on Unity Health Care clinics in Wards 7 and 8 in Washington, D.C. Coaches provided one-on-one support for patient portal enrollment, telehealth access, and digital literacy.

The program received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both patients and community partners, highlighting the value of bridging digital health gaps through personalized coaching. HealthDesk looks forward to continuing the program next summer, expanding access and training for even more students and patients.
