New Partnership: Medical Student Volunteers Join HealthDesk

GW HealthDesk is excited to announce a new partnership with The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, welcoming medical student volunteers to join the HealthDesk team. This initiative provides students with meaningful direct patient experience in community health clinics, offering opportunities for leadership development, independent connections, and research involvement.

The medical student cohort will assist Unity Health Care clinics during their transition to a new electronic health record system, serving as a supportive presence for patients navigating the updated platform. Volunteers will help address diverse patient questions, reduce the challenges of the transition, and strengthen digital health confidence among the community.

This partnership highlights HealthDesk’s ongoing mission to bridge innovation, patient care, and education to improve health equity across Washington, D.C.
